Self Sacrifice

What was the situation like when you had sacrificed your plans or goals in life to take care of another person? (Whether it was for one incident or for a longer period of time) Even though it may have been a detriment to your social life, did it benefit you at all? ____________________________________________________________ Responders: Have any of you ever had a similar situation? Do you have a better opinion about this person now after reading his or her post?

  2. One time that I had to sacrifice my plans to take care of anther person is when my sister got sick and my mother was working. I don’t like to take care of sick people because I feel like I’m going to get sick because of them being sick. However, in my eyes, family comes first. I had to cancel my movie date to stay home and take care of her. I benefited because my mom was pleased and happy that I actually took care of her rather than complaining. I was able to go out the next day but they had to be put on pause for a moment.

    1. It's good that you think that way.. Unfortunately a lot of kids put their social lives before their family.

    2. I guess we all tend to forget that there will always be other "nights out" but never other chances to prove how good we really are.

  3. There has been a few situations in my life where I've had to sacrifice my social life(among other things)to take care of someone but the most prominent is when my mother shatter her left leg at work and became really sick. Sense she had been going through relationship problems no one was there to support her or help her day by day so I gave up most of my summer time to helping her. Though a lot of my "free time" was spent on that I didn't mind because that's my mother and I know if it was me in that situation she would've done the same for me. The whole ordeal benefited our relationship as Mother and son.
